The next food swap will be on Saturday February 16, from 10 to 11 am. It can be found at the pop up park on corner of Broadway and Cheddar Rd. Reservoir.
Fairfield
The next Fairfield food swap will be on Saturday February 16, from 11 to 12 noon. It can be found at the corner of Gillies and Duncan Streets, Fairfield. It will be in the side garden facing Duncan St.
TD in the Pub: Ethical Shopping
How to buy ethical and make it fun: Choose your own shopping adventure!
Buying the right thing seems to be getting more complicated every day.
This session will empower you to find your way through the complexity of choosing what to buy. By learning about key green purchasing principles you will be able to work out your own ethical framework. Once you have a framework you won’t have to juggle as many issues each time you buy something.
The presenter will also discuss how to see through false marketing claims and explore which claims and certifications are credible.
We will talk about joyful purchasing and ways to joyfully buy less.
The evening will include a presentation, small group discussions and plenty of opportunity to debate the difficult questions.

Tania Struzina has worked for the ECO-Buy Victorian Local Government Program and on Sustainable Office programs at RMIT University. She is passionate about reducing her environmental footprint and social impact and supporting social enterprises making a difference. She has a Masters in Environment and Planning.

Food Swaps – Preston/Thornbury
The next food swap will be on Saturday February 23, from 11 to 12 pm. It can be found at the corner of High St and Pender St, Thornbury.
Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.
Northcote
The next Northcote food swap will be on Saturday March 9, from 11 to 12 pm. It can be found at 251 High St Northcote in the side garden of the church.
Ideas of what to bring:
- seeds from your garden
- seedlings
- fruit
- vegetables
- herbs
- preserves
- cordials
- sour dough starter

Our Apple Tree – Working Bee
Come one, come all, to this month’s Apple Tree Working Bee. Come and support a green space initiative, and make the area better for all.
