Food Swaps

Reservoir

The next food swap will be on Saturday January 19, from 10 to 11 am.  It can be found at the pop up park on corner of Broadway  and Cheddar Rd. Reservoir.

Fairfield

The next Fairfield food swap will be on Saturday January 19, from 11 to 12 noon.  It can be found at the corner of Gillies and Duncan Streets, Fairfield. It will be in the side garden facing Duncan St.

Preston/Thornbury

The next food swap will be on Saturday January 26, from 11 to 12 pm.  It can be found at the corner of High St and Pender St, Thornbury.

Darebin Repair Cafe #5

When: Sunday January 27, 10 am to 1 pm

Where: Clyde Hall – 64 Clyde Street, Thornbury.

Spots available at 10, 11 and 12. If you come much after 12 there might not be time to fix your item. 1pm finish is a hard deadline.  We’re not doing bookings this time – just turn up!

Repairs on: clothes including visible mending and darning, items needing glueing, small machines, toys. Possibility of sewing machines & electrical, and jewellery. Mainly sewing fixers available at present.
(Subject to availability of volunteer fixers on the day)

Email us a photo of repair with description of what needs fixing if you think it might need parts so you can purchase beforehand.

Food Swaps – Northcote

The next Northcote food swap will be on Saturday February 9, from 11 to 12 pm.  It can be found at 251 High St Northcote in the side garden of the church.

Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.

Ideas of what to bring:

  • seeds from your garden
  • seedlings
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • herbs
  • preserves
  • cordials
  • sour dough starter

Our Apple Tree – Working Bee

Come one, come all, to this month’s Apple Tree Working Bee.  Come and support a green space initiative, and make the area better for all.

Where: Garden next to 123 Herbert Street, Northcote

When: Sunday February 10, 10 am onwards.
