Candidates’ Forum – Northcote By-Election
Meet the candidates and ask questions about the issues you care about at an election forum hosted by 12 community groups. The Northcote by-election will be a close contest between Greens candidate Lidia Thorpe and Labor candidate Clare Burns, and both of these candidates are attending. The ten other candidates are also invited.
The forum will include two songs from special guest, singer and songwriter, Shane Howard. There will be one hour for questions from the floor. Eminent human rights lawyer and former Victorian Public Advocate, Julian Gardner will chair the forum.

The next Northcote food swap will be on Saturday November 11, from 11 to 12 pm. It can be found at 251 High St Northcote in the side garden of the church.
Our Apple Tree – Working Bee
Come one, come all, to this month’s Apple Tree Working Bee. This month, we’re getting some mulch for the garden, and preparing for the likely blistering summer.
Where: Garden next to 123 Herbert Street, Northcote
When: Sunday November 12, 1 pm onwards.
Food Swaps – Reservoir
The next food swap will be on Saturday November 18, from 10 to 11 am. It can be found at the pop up park on corner of Broadway and Cheddar Rd. Reservoir.
South Preston
The next food swap will be on Saturday November 25, from 11 to 12 pm. It can be found at the corner of Oakover Road and High St, South Preston (outside the op shop, either at the front in the garden or out the back if shade is needed or if it’s raining)
Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.

- preserves
- cordials
- sour dough starter
