Our Apple Tree – Working Bee

Come one, come all, to this month’s Apple Tree Working Bee.  This month, we’re targeting the Kikuyu and Cooch weeds that have taken over, in order to reclaim the boxes and transform the area.

Food Swaps – Reservoir

The next food swap will be on Saturday September 16, from 10 to 11 am.  It can be found at the pop up park on corner of Broadway  and Cheddar Rd. Reservoir.

Annual General Meeting

Save the date (Thursday September 21, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm) for the Transition Darebin Annual General Meeting; details to follow.

Food Swaps – South Preston

The next food swap will be on Saturday September 23, from 11 to 12 pm.  It can be found at the corner of Oakover Road and High St, South Preston (outside the op shop, either at the front in the garden or out the back if shade is needed or if it’s raining).

Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.

Ideas of what to bring:

  • seeds from your garden
  • seedlings
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • herbs
  • preserves
  • cordials
  • sour dough starter

The list goes on…

Convivial Garden – Bee Hotel making

Put this date in your diary – Sunday September 24.  Convivial Garden are planning a workshop on bee hotels!  Our friends at Buzz and Dig will be showing us how it’s done… more details to follow.
