Hi all,

We’re aiming to experiment with a new post format – twice a month, we’ll do an update with all the events coming up in the next month.  So, without further ado…

Share and Inspire: Transition Towns Convergence

An opportunity for Transition Town people (so, anyone involved with any Transition groups, including us) to reconnect and share stories, news, ideas and plans. Ideal for people wanting to start a Transtion group or find new ways to build a resilience, localised and sustainable community.
The day’s program will include sessions on:
– sharing our celebrations and challenges – including posters and short presentations
– discussing issues of interest or concern
– Briefing on Transition Hub Australia and the 2017 Transition Communities National Summit.

Saturday 29 July 2017 9.30am-4.30pm at
The Hub @ Docklands, 80 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands 3008

Please RSVP by 26 July here.

Food Swaps

We have three Food Swaps each month.

Northcote

The next food swap will be on Saturday August 12, from 11 to 12 pm.  It can be found at 251 High St Northcote in the side garden of the church.

Reservoir

The next food swap will be on Saturday August 19, from 10 to 11 am.  It can be found at the pop up park on corner of Broadway  and Cheddar Rd. Reservoir.

South Preston

The next food swap will be on Saturday August 26, from 11 to 12 pm.  It can be found at the corner of Oakover Road and High St, South Preston (outside the op shop, either at the front in the garden or out the back if shade is needed).

Food Swaps are an occasion to meet your community, talk about gardens and sustainability and swap excess produce from your garden, or something you made in your kitchen. You bring some and get to take some away as with all good swaps.

Ideas of what to bring:

  • seeds from your garden
  • seedlings
  • fruit
  • vegetables
  • herbs
  • preserves
  • cordials
  • sour dough starter

The list goes on…
