Where to next for Transition Darebin?

TD has achieved some wonderful things over its short history. Regular food swaps, ‘share make mend’, the fruit squad, film nights, a food forum, a food tour, the community garden plot, workshops, the E-bulletin, training, among many other things. We now think its time to put our heads together and discuss where TD should focus its energies for 2014 and onwards
Its important to keep in mind what we are trying to achieve at TD. We are part of the inspiring worldwide Transition Towns movement. The basic aim of this movement to relocalise and decarbonise the economy, in order to become less dependent on the globalised, consumer, fossil-fuel-dependent economy. For an excellent introduction to Transition Towns, I encourage you to read this short article by our friend Sam Alexander over at Transition Coburg.
So with that goal in mind, we welcome all to come along to a night of brainstorming and creative dreaming about what TD could be. Bring your thinking hats! No ideas are off the table, and all input welcome.
As an additional treat some of our regular members, Paul and Kate, will share what they learnt from the recent Transition Training weekend.
When: Tuesday October 8
Time: 7:00 – 9:00pm

It was great to be able to work with the group in this session guys and some fantastic ideas and questions can up for me. There was recently a University of Melbourne session that asked How we can Achieve a Healthy and sustainable post carbon world? I got the idea about the letter from the future from here and I think it’s worth watching.
